Bitcoin futures and options see notable growth in 2020
Bitcoin futures Average Daily Volume (ADV) up 106% MoM
With increased geopolitical concerns, market participants continue to turn to CME Bitcoin products to manage bitcoin risk on a regulated platform.
January 2020 was Bitcoin futures' second-best month since their 2017 launch, averaging 10.8K contracts, 69% greater than the average daily volume (ADV) in 2019.
Options on Bitcoin futures
New options on Bitcoin futures are also picking up pace, with strong liquidity provider support and two-sided quotes as tight as 2 ticks wide. Since launch, 466 options contracts (2.3K equivalent bitcoin) have traded -- nearly 40% as blocks, showing signs of institutional interest.
