Cotton was higher yesterday in response to comments by Fed chairman Bernacke that the U.S. economy was getting better and that the crisis was passing. Wire reports that Texas could plant 25% less area to Cotton were very supportive.

Cotton was lower again Friday on follow through selling from Thursday and as spending cuts for the government draw nearer. Ideas are that the across the board cuts will hurt the economy and thus cotton demand.
