Visualizing the Right Side of the Chart

Presented by Steve Bobbitt, day trader, instructor

Any money to be made trading will occur on the right side of current price action. Traders need to be anticipatory in their analysis so they are better prepared to take action once price reaches projected levels. These projections are derived from the application of simple tools and concepts such as Fibonacci, supply and demand zones, previous price action, chart patterns, and average swing size. The information within this presentation is able to be applied to any asset class and any timeframe.

A Quick Note About Steve Bobbitt: Steve Bobbitt is an independent trader and a futures instructor with the On-Line Trading Academy. Steve has been actively trading his various cash flow and retirement accounts since 2002. He started trading futures products in 2005 and has traded various asset classes including e-mini equities, currencies, metals, and grains. His research has been the basis for his contributions to Futures Magazine. Steve holds an undergraduate degree in finance as well as an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

How to anticipate, spot and use wedges to improve your short-term trading

Presented by Al Brooks, Day trader

Self-made trader Al Brooks will discuss technical wedges, which are ascending or descending contracting triangles that often set up reversal trades on all timeframes. However, using a looser definition and focusing more on the three pushes rather than on the convergence of the trend line and trend channel line, Al will show that wedges occur frequently every day on a five-minute chart and are one of the most common scalp and swing setups. This webinar will present many of the variations of this form of price action, and discuss how to anticipate and trade them.

A Quick Note About Al Brooks: Al Brooks is a self taught/self made day trader who has traded for his own account for 20 plus years. The pull of trading was with him early, as he always wondered if he should drop out of medicine and work on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Several years and a medical career later he “retired” and has been trading for himself for 20 years and loving it.

Fly like a butterfly: One options strategy for all markets

Presented by Alex Mendoza, options trader, instructor

Learn perhaps the most powerful option strategy implemented by elite floor traders on the Chicago Board Options Exchange - the Broken Wing Butterfly, or BWB. This esoteric technique strategically meshes the benefits of a butterfly with those of a vertical spread, while protecting each to reduce the risk exposure of both. How many times have you purchased a butterfly spread, only to watch your position expire worthless? The BWB works around this conundrum of risk versus reward so that most spreads are purchased for a zero debit. Alex Mendoza will let you in on the inner workings of the spread: how to place the trade for a zero debit, how the whole trade can equal more than the sum of its pieces, and why this is likely the fastest growing and most sought out option trade today.

A Quick Note About Alex Mendoza: Alex Mendoza is chief options strategist with Random Walk. In 1995, Alex graduated from Duke University with a B. A. in Economics. His mathematical aptitude landed him a position at the Federal Reserve Bank, where he served as an assistant economist. In 1997, he moved to Chicago where he underwent a rigorous formal training program with Susquehanna International Group (SIG). He was a market maker and member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange from 1998 to 2002. While on the floor, Alex made markets and managed positions in over 40 equity options classes. Today he continues to trade as well as teach options strategies.
