According to the charts, the level of resistance for the long term investors is at the $ 819.00 to 820.00 level in spot. That area has been challenged this year a few times this year with no follow thru on any London fixing price. Currently, the spot price of Palladium is trading at $786.00. Dubai Imposes a 5% Import Duty on Gold Jewelry/ET Markets-Ghosal: Dubai has imposed a 5% import duty on gold and diamond jewelry, a move which is likely to hurt Indian exports at a time when demonetization has hit business at home. The war on cash takes another step forward in Dubai. The new levy may, however, boost bridal jewelry sales in India because many Indian shoppers had turned to Dubai owing to the cheaper gold there and the price difference may no longer be attractive enough. Spot gold rose to its highest in over two weeks on Friday on a weaker dollar and was set to end 2016 more than 9% higher, marking its first annual gain in four years. For the week, gold is up about 2.5% and is poised to register its best weekly gain since early June. In India, the world's No. 2 consumer of the metal, dealers were offering a discount of up to $4 an ounce this week over official domestic prices that include a 10% import tax. They offered discounts of up to $2 last week.
