Editorial Submissions

Futures welcomes editorial submissions from freelancers. The vast majority of freelance articles appearing in Futures deal with trading techniques (analytical strategies), current market analysis, or software and book reviews.

Examples of articles that we frequently publish from freelance contributors are:

  • Software reviews and book reviews
  • Discussions of technical analysis methods (moving averages, oscillators, etc.)
  • Explanations of fundamental factors that move markets
  • Tips on better trade execution (better fills, short-term timing)
  • Descriptions of money management methods (sizing trades)
  • Descriptions of risk control (cutting losses)
  • Why certain markets may (or may not) be better for certain traders/methods
  • Suggestions of assessing trading system performance
  • Trader psychology

If you have not written the article yet, we encourage you to submit the idea first. That way, if the idea does not conform with our editorial calendar or if in the unlikely event we have already contracted for a similar idea from elsewhere, we can let you know immediately that Futures will be unable to use the piece in the immediate future. Article proposals can be e-mailed to Editor Dan Collins.

However, if you have already written the article, please go ahead and submit it in its entirety.

In either case, we ask that you follow our Writer's Guidelines. They can be downloaded in Microsoft Word *.doc format by clicking here.
