 Russo named general counsel at AIG

Thomas Russo was named general counsel at AIG. Previously he was senior counsel at Patton Boggs LLP. Before that, he was a vice chairman and chief legal officer at Lehman Brothers. “I am nervous, but also excited. I looked into what the prospects would be for the company, both to pay off the debt to the American taxpayers and to emerge a strong company, and decided I could not refuse. This is one of the biggest challenges in the corporate world right now. It is not my personality to run away from challenges in cases where I believe hard work can achieve a positive result,” Russo says.  

Garry N. O’Connor was named CEO of IDCG. Previously he was chief product officer for IDCG.

Richard Mandl was elected chairman of the Kansas City Board of Trade.

Cathryn Lyall was named director of BM&FBOVESPA (UK) Ltd. Previously she was COO of exchange projects
at ICAP.

Kirk Chartier has joined optionsXpress as chief marketing officer.

Carlo V. di Florio was named director of the office of compliance inspections and examinations at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Julian Edwards was named consumer senior advisor at the Financial Services Authority. 

Laurent Cunin was appointed head of Asia Pacific and Pierre Gay was named global head of fixed income, currency and commodities at Newedge.

James M. Falvey was appointed corporate general counsel at R.J. O’Brien.

Jubin Pejman joined GFI to head the environmental products group.

Thomas Donahoe was named global risk officer at Aladdin Capital Holdings.

James Polisson and Andrew Arenberg were named managing directors at Russell Investments. 

Raymond Tamayo has joined the Options Industry Council as chief
information officer.

Mark van Vugt was appointed to the executive board at RTS Realtime Systems Group.
