On Jan. 4, SunGard announced it would work with the Brazilian Mercantile & Futures Exchange (BM&F) to expand clearing support at BM&F within SunGard’s GMI clearing solution for ETFs, futures and options. The agreement will allow U.S. futures commission merchants to import cleared trades from Brazil into their GMI systems. “SunGard’s collaboration with BM&F will give U.S. and global firms using GMI the ability to book their listed derivatives transactions from Brazil, calculate margins and manage fees,” Gerry Murphy, president of SunGard’s brokerage and clearance business, said in a statement.
