Below is an actual response from a data vendor when they were pressed for notification of prior data changes. This is indicative of the attitude among many vendors today that data are one of the least important aspects of their business.

Due to the thousands of corrections that we receive each and every day that are not reported to us, it would take an unrealistic amount of manpower to go through the several thousands of volume and price change updates to isolate the specific changes in question and then provide that list to the users through a news update….”
“We understand this may be important information to you, but it may not be as important to other users.”
