What's Happening Today:
- Following a mostly positive day in Asia and a mixed beginning to the trading day in Europe, the U.S.-based equity futures are indicating a higher open. Heading into the weekend, the Japanese based Nikkei continued with strength as it hits multi-decade highs. The European Central Bank has indicated that it could see extending its asset purchases for nine months or more at the same time as reducing the amount purchased.
- This morning traders are beginning to sift through the financial second quarter earnings. Some top names reporting this morning include Bank of America (BAC). BAC beat by $0.03 but missed on revenue. PNC Financial (PNC) reported a beat on EPS and revenue versus analyst consensus. PNC’s 2017 Net Income indicated at $1.1 billion.
- This morning’s CPI will be closely watched as yesterday’s PPI came in higher than expected.
