What's Happening Today:
- Following a mixed session in Asia and a mixed start to the day in Europe, the U.S.-based futures are pointing to a somewhat quiet open this morning. The infection for many traders is the upcoming jobs data tomorrow morning. With the attention on not just the headline non-farm payroll figures, economists will be looking for any inflationary pressures that are present in the hourly wage numbers. A decent amount of attention has been paid to the upcoming term renewal for the FOMC Chair in early 2018. While a number candidates have been thrown into consideration for the post, the White House has been tight-lipped on any specific language relating to the subject matter.
- Traders will be looking for additional rhetoric from Russia and OPEC on any indication of production cuts in its perpetual efforts to finding price equilibrium.
