S&P 500 Opening Price correlates to Lawyers in Washington

The upward trend of the S&P 500 Index since 2009 bears a remarkable resemblance to the growth of legal lobbyists and litigators in the nation’s capital between 1999 and 2011. The two linear data sets correlate to 98.6%. Could we use the D.C. J.D. count as a market predictor? Maybe not, but the latest ABA survey says the S&P will keep going up the rest of this year.
