The Alpha Pages has named Daniel P. Collins Editor-in-Chief of Futures Magazine and FuturesMag.com.
After coming to Futures in 2001 to cover managed money, Collins was promoted to Managing Editor in 2005, a position he held until January 2013 when the publication was acquired by The Alpha Pages. He left his full-time position at the magazine then, but continued to contribute writing the monthly Markets and Trader Profile sections.
Jeff Joseph, CEO of The Alpha Pages, expressed his excitement saying, “I am thrilled to announce the return of Dan Collins as the leader of the Futures editorial team. Our readers are sophisticated and demand the highest level of industry insight and knowledge. Dan is much more than a great editor and journalist — he is an acknowledged futures industry insider. Dan brings the domain expertise of a true practitioner to his coverage and commentary. This move ensures momentum as we continually seek higher standards for Futures’ loyal base of investors and traders.”
Over the past 13 years, Collins has chronicled the important changes and events in the industry. “I am excited to resume the leadership role at Futures,” Collins says. “Futures markets are becoming much more relevant in our world and it is important to provide coverage of the industry and its products to a much larger audience. There have been a great deal of changes in the universe of futures, options, derivatives and alternative investments that will make the information and coverage Futures has provided for four decades more relevant to the mainstream investor.”
Joseph adds, “The quality, frequency and intensity of Dan’s trading industry coverage and commentary over the years confirms his position as the preeminent voice of the futures and derivatives trading industry. He is the right person to meet the new demands of print and digital journalism and an ever-evolving trading industry. We believe this move propels Futures and The Alpha Pages forward to embrace new opportunities and provide investors and industry professionals with quality information and insight on derivatives trading and alternative investments.”
