Trading Places: Tom Wittman named head of U.S. stock markets at Nasdaq

Nasdaq appointed Tom Wittman as head of its U.S. stock markets, replacing Brad Vopni who left the company. Wittman has been president of Nasdaq OMX PHLX since 2008.

LSE appointed Stephen O’Connor, the new ISDA chairman, and Stuart Lewis, head of risk of Deutsche Bankm as non-executive directors.

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. Patrick Hickey of Optiver US was elected to the Board as a director representing ISE's Competitive Market Makers. Elizabeth Martin of Goldman Sachs & Co. was elected to represent ISE's Electronic Access Members. Slade Winchester of Citigroup, who previously represented ISE's EAMs and CMMs on the Board, was elected to serve as director on behalf of ISE's Primary Market Makers. In addition to these elections, Denis Medvedsek of Knight Capital Group was appointed as CMM Director to fill a vacancy. 

Hanmi Financial Corporation, the holding company for Hanmi Bank, announced that Chong Guk (C. G.) Kum is joining Hanmi and the Bank as their new President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kum's appointment follows the retirement of Jay S. Yoo.

NYX appointed Eric Forest as chairman and CEO of EnterNext, its SME marketplace. Forest previously worked at Oddo Corporate Finance, heading its equity capital markets business, and prior to that worked for Société Générale in its equity capital markets team.

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Stephen O’Connor as full-time Chairman.

ABN AMRO Clearing announced the appointment of John M. Ruth as chief executive officer of its Chicago office with immediate effect. Ruth joins from Goldman Sachs & Co, where he was a Managing Director and Branch Manager of Goldman Sachs Execution & Clearing in Chicago.

R.J. O’Brien & Associates announced that Julie M. DeMatteo, has joined the firm and will serve as Managing Director, Asset Management.  DeMatteo has nearly three decades of experience in futures across various disciplines.

CME Clearing Europe CEO Andrew Lamb will retire on July 31, with Lee Betsill, current COO and managing director of CME Clearing Europe, to succeed Lamb.

TMX appointed Deana Djurdjevic senior VP of equities trading today. Djurdjevic joined TMX after the exchange operator acquired Alpha Trading Systems. She was previously chief trading and data officer at Alpha, and prior to that also worked at financial institutions including the Bank of Montreal and Fidelity Investments.
