Trading Places: Book named CEO of Eurex Clearing

Eurex Clearing re-shuffled its executive board, and appointed Thomas Book as CEO of Eurex Clearing. Book has been a member of the Board since March 2007. Heike Eckert was appointed as COO, Thomas Laux as Chief Risk Officer, and Eric Müller for Treasury.

Northern Lights Distributors, LLC has appointed Brian Nielsen as CEO and Bill Wostoupal as president, effective immediately. These management changes were adopted as part of the firm’s strategic focus on growth in its sales and distribution platform. 

Omgeo that Edward Hazel of Goldman Sachs, Richard Taggart of State Street’s Investment Management Services (IMS) and Susan Cosgrove of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) have joined its Board of Managers.

Nomura appointed Yasuhiro Fujiwara as head of equities for Asia excluding Japan. Fujiwara will be based in Hong Kong, and will also head the bank’s equity derivatives trading for the Asia-Pacific region.

The board of directors of National Futures Association has re-elected Christopher K. Hehmeyer, Vice Chairman, Knight Futures, to serve a one-year term as Chairman. The Board also elected Michael C. Dawley, Managing Director, Goldman Sachs & Co., to serve as Vice Chairman.

eClerx announced the appointment of Alan Paris as Principal in the New York office. In this newly-created role, Paris will manage financial services accounts and act as Global Consulting Lead. Prior to joining eClerx, Paris was Executive Director at Ernst & Young, where he led the Capital Markets Technology and Operations Transformation team.

FINRA appointed Citigroup’s co-chief information officer Steven Randich as EVP and CIO, Finextra reported. Radich will oversee technology and the registration and disclosure division when he assumes his post in FINRA on March 11.

Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. appointed Maura Markus as an independent member of its Board of Directors.  Markus is currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of Bank of the West, a position she has held since March 2010.

GETCO and Knight Capital Group Inc. announced a new management team that will lead the combined company following a merger between the two firms. Notable appointments to the team include Daniel Coleman, current GETCO CEO, who will lead the new firm; Thomas Joyce, Knight Chairman and CEO, who will be the executive chairman of the board of directors; and Steven Bisgay, who will serve as chief financial officer.
