Trading Places: Simpson joins NZX as head of operations

Mandy Simpson, a former London Stock Exchange (LSE) executive, was appointed head of operations at the New Zealand Exchange (NZX). Prior to joining NZX, Simpsons worked in LSE’s regulatory news service department.

Futures industry veteran Mary McDonnell recently joined consulting group Simon Compliance as senior advisor and consultant. McDonnell has run her own consulting firm, McDonnell & Associates since leaving proprietary trading firm Geneva Trading in 2010, where she served as president and CEO for seven years. Simon is a full service consulting firm providing compliance for firms regulated by the SEC, FINRA and CFTC.

Pamela Dyson was named deputy chief information officer of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Dyson joined the agency in November 2010, and has worked as assistant director for enterprise operation and chief technology officer. In her new role, she will work to modernize and enhance the SEC’s information technology systems.

Young Park joined Davis + Henderson Corp. as executive vice president and chief information officer. She will also serve as a member of the D + H executive committee. Park comes to the company from CGI Group, where she handled business and IT strategy for Toronto clients as sector vice president for Property & Casualty.

Andrew Patterson was appointed senior director, head of metals trading for Europe, the Middle East and Asia at Newedge, one of a series of executive appointments at the brokerage. In London, Andrew Foxley was named director, global head of metals ebrokerage. In New York, William Taylor is now senior director, head of metals trading, Americas. In Asia, Wendy Law joined the company as director, head of sales, Asia and Alan Burr was hired as director, head of trading, Asia.

Gerald Pavelich joined Barclaycard US as chief financial officer. Pavelich, who also will be a member of the company’s CFO Operating Committee and U.S. Executive Committee, previously was CFO of CUNA Mutual Group. Peggy Maher also joined Barclaycard as chief marketing officer, after 25 years with American Express.

James Oosterbaan was named head of natural gas exchange (NGX), a subsidiary of TMX Group. Oosterbaan previously served as senior vice president of operation and commodity portfolio management at Capital Power Corp. He also is a director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Ghislaine Mattlinger was appointed group CFO of Newedge. Mattlinger, who will also join Newedge’s executive committee, comes to the firm from Natixis, where she was CFO and a member of its executive committee. She has also held CFO positions at Poweo, PagesJaunes Groupe and Viel Tradition Group.

Timothy Utama joined the Singapore Exchange (SGX) as chief operations and technology officer. Utama previously was technology and operations director at PT bank Permata TBK. He also has held positions at Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ Bank and Bank of Trade (LippoBank).

Michael Milmoe was named senior vice president and alternative investment business development officer of US Bancorp Fund Services. Milmoe, who specializes in alternative asset structures, administration, custody services and fund technology, most recently served as the executive director of worldwide securities services at JP Morgan.

Raj Mahajan was named CEO of Allston Trading, replacing Carlton Jones, who is now the firm’s chairman and president. Mahajan most recently was president of global trading at SunGard Data Systems Inc. He also will join Allston’s board.
