FXCM Inc. kicked off the new year by launching a new version of their MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform offering. MT4 is one of the most popular platforms used by many brokers around the world, especially in Europe, Australia, and Asia.

Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange announced that FlexTrade Systems has become an approved Independent Software Vendor on the Exchange.

Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will launch a new trading platform in 3Q11 as well as other measures to improve liquidity in current products. SET will also add new derivatives products to attract more foreign investment, and also ETFs, Thai depository receipts and currency futures.

TMX phase four of its co-location facility will open in Q2 2012. TMX also announced several product enhancements: Upgraded electrical systems, improved availability, extended access hours, expanded security presence and improved operational procedures.

NASDAQ OMX will launch Commodities Genium INET trading environment on 5 March 2012. Exchange and IT information with overviews of the launch preparation activities, launch weekend plan and roll back framework will be distributed in the beginning of February. Additional activities and plans will be updated through exchange notices or member IT notices if necessary

AcadiaSoft, Inc. announced that Bluebay Asset Management, Cheyne Capital Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) will be live on MarginSphere, AcadiaSoft’s online community for margin automation in the OTC derivatives market, in the first or second quarter of 2012.

Newedge launched its Agency Cash Management platform, an electronic auction facility for the tri-party repo market. The platform, which has already registered its first trades, has been launched in association with MTS, Europe’s premier facilitator for the European fixed income trading market.

The International Securities Exchange is now offering a Premium Access connection in its primary data center. Premium Access subscribers will connect to ISE over Juniper Networks' high performance, ultra-low latency 10 gigabit Ethernet switches.

Dow Jones introduced News Analytics, a series of product solutions to help traders, quantitative analysts and risk managers build better, more predictable trading models based on news sentiment. News sentiment analytics quantify the impact of market-moving news, in real time or coupled with historical news models.
