Lukken takes up FIA leadership

Walter Lukken was appointed president and CEO of the Futures Industry Association. He succeeds John Damgard, who is retiring. Lukken served as Acting Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)from 2007 to 2009 after several years as a CFTC Commissioner. Most recently he was CEO of New York Portfolio Clearing. “The futures industry is vital to our economy and job number one for me will be working with our members and policy-makers to ensure the market structure for futures and the broader listed derivatives community is safe, effective and contributing to economic growth,” Lukken says.

Peter Borish was named CEO of Touradji Capital Management. He previously was CEO of Computer Trading Corporation, a global hedge fund.

Charlie Longden was appointed CEO of LCH.Clearnet’s credit default swap clearing service, CDSClear. Longden previously worked in Markit as managing director of fixed income.

Mark Hemsley was named CEO of BATS Chi-X Europe following the completed merger. He previously was CEO of BATS Europe.

Rod Drown was named principal and managing director at OANDA. Previously, Drown was CEO and a board member at IG Markets.

Damian Chunilal was appointed chief executive for Asia at VTB Capital. Previously, Chunilal was a managing partner at Merrill Lynch

Michael Gallucci was appointed regional director for U.S. structured products and sell side firms at Russell Investments. Prior to joining Russell, Gallucci spent 16 years with Standard & Poor’s.

Lisa Rosen was appointed head of compliance and public affairs at LCH.Clearnet. She previously was managing director, global head of regulatory affairs at Barclays Capital in London.

Michael Walinskas was promoted to executive vice president and chief risk officer from senior vice president, risk management and membership at OCC.

Stephen Barker was hired by Credit Suisse Group AG as an equities analyst and director in Tokyo to cover medium-sized Japanese companies. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Barker was with MF Global Holdings Inc. before its collapse.

James Harasimowicz and Joseph Gulash were hired at KBW as managing directors in the Depository Investment Banking Group. Most recently Harasimowicz was a founder of Longview Partners LLC, a multi-strategy hedge fund specializing in financial services. Gulash joins KBW from D.A. Davidson & Co., where he led merger and acquisition and capital markets transactions for banking companies in the Western United States.

Steven D. Black was appointed a member of the board of directors at Nasdaq. Black formerly was vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase and member of JPMorgan Chase’s operating committee and executive committee.
