Pettit goes from MF Global to ICAP

Gary Pettit was appointed global head of financial futures and options at ICAP. Previously, Pettit was global head of futures and options at MF Global. Pettit will be based in London, reporting to Gary Smith, Deputy CEO, ICAP London and EMEA. “We are delighted to welcome such a respected executive as Gary to ICAP. Michael Dann was promoted to global head of agricultural business at Newedge from his current position as head of cocoa, coffee and sugar. Dann has been working in the brokerage business for 30 years, specializing in agriculture and commodities throughout. “In short, it's all about the client. My primary focus is to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of customers in what is a dynamic environment. Change — be it regulatory developments or economic drivers — produces challenges that Newedge needs to meet and that we need to help our clients meet; but change also inevitably creates opportunities, which we aim to exploit to help drive future success for clients, and thereby for Newedge,” he says.

Evelien van den Arend was hired by CME Group as associate director and assistant general counsel for the European, Middle East and Africa region. Previously, she was in legal and compliance at Turquoise.

Chng Lay Chew was appointed CFO at Singapore Exchange. In his most recent role, he was responsible for the finance functions of DBS Group's operations in all countries outside Singapore.

Salomon Sredni was named chief operating officer of Monex Group Inc. Sredni has been CEO of TradeStation since 2007 and will continue in that role in addition to his new responsibilities. He has been with TradeStation since 1997.

Takashi Oyagi was named chief strategic officer of TradeStation Group. Oyagi has been Chief Strategic Officer of Monex Group, Inc., the parent company of TradeStation Group, since February 2011, and has been a member of the Board of Directors of both Monex Group and TradeStation since June 2011.

Li Wen Long was appointed executive director of business development (China) at Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (HKMEx). Previously, he worked at ICBC as head of research and development in precious metals.

Chauncey Dewey was promoted to head of diversified financials investment banking at KBW. Since joining KBW in 2009, Dewey has been a Managing Director within the Diversified Finance Group. Lauren Smith was named managing director in the diversified finance group at KBW. Smith first joined KBW in 2000 and has spent the past 12 years with the firm’s Research Department, most recently serving as Managing Director responsible for coverage of the U.S. securities brokerage industry.

Adam Eades was appointed head of regulatory and legal affairs at BATS Europe. Previously, he worked 14 years at NYX Liffe.

Jay Biancamano was appointed executive chairman at Pipeline Financial Group, replacing Alfred R. Berkeley who retired from the firm. Biancamano previously was Liquidnet’s global head of marketplace and corporate strategy, and also served as a vice president and director at ITG.

Trevor Spanner was appointed managing director of post-trade services at LME. He formerly was COO of EuroCCP.

Stephen Gaterell was appointed CEO of Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange. Previously, he worked in senior positions at Merrill Lynch, UBS and Goldman Sachs.
