Two new futures contracts were listed on the Mexican Derivatives Exchange (MexDer), the derivatives subsidiary of the Mexican Exchange (Bolsa Mexicana BMV), whose underlying assets are the 5 and 30 year Federal Government Development Bond (M5 and M30).

Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) will introduce cross-border ETFs this year. QDII FX quotas may be granted for the ETFs, which may adopt a “T+2” settlement regime.

Eris Exchange announced the successful launch of the Eris SwapBook electronic trading platform for trading Eris Interest Rate Swap Futures cleared by CME Clearing.

Russell Investments announced the U.S. launch of Russell ETFs with the listing of its first suite of innovative ETFs, the Russell Investment Discipline ETFs on the NYSE Arca.

Russell Investments and Axioma, Inc. collaborated to launch a series of long-only large and small cap factor indexes.

Montreal Exchange launched an SXM Mini Futures contract on the S&P/TSX 60 Index. The contract represents a quarter of the value of the current S&P/TSX 60 Index Standard Futures contract and will commence with the June 2011 contract (M11) with regular quarterly expiries subsequently.

CME Group announced that it will launch Euribor futures and options on CME Globex beginning in the second half of 2011.
