ELX gains ground in 5-yr. Treasuries

New York, May 4, 2011 – ELX Futures, L.P. (ELX), a leading electronic futures exchange, announced today that it has established a new end-of-day volume record in its 5-year U.S. Treasury futures contract, with 39,432 contracts traded. ELX ended the session with more than 105K contracts traded. ELX also captured more than 5% market share in the 2 and 5-year notes and 30-year bond.

Neal Wolkoff, Chief Executive Officer of ELX Futures, said, “Today was another strong trading session for ELX with over 105K contracts traded and the 2, 5 and 30-year Treasury futures garnering 5% market share. We are now consistently capturing 5% market share in these products and becoming a competitive force in the futures marketplace.”

Today’s record volume in the 5-year note follows last month’s record market share performance of the year for the 5-year note and the best performing market share month ever for the 30-year bond.
