Richard Price assumes Mesirow mantle

Richard Price was named the new chairman and CEO of Mesirow Financial Holdings Inc. following the death of Jim Tyree. Price has been on Mesirow’s board since 1987, rising to vice-chairman in 2001. "While we miss Jim dearly, the principles that define our organization — independence and innovation — have sustained our firm for decades, and position us well for the future," Price says.

Marvin W. Adams was appointed COO at TD Ameritrade. Adams was most recently executive VP at TIAA-CREF.

John Abularrage was appointed CEO for the Americas at Tullett Prebon. Martin Lynch also was appointed COO the Americas. Both Abularrage and Lynch join from Collins Stewart Inc.

Til Schuermann was named a managing director at BlackRock in its BlackRock Solutions department. Schuermann previously was an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Luc Bertrand was named vice chairman of Banque Nationale du Canada’s financial group.

Brian Schell was appointed chief financial officer and senior vice president at BATS Global Markets. He joins BATS with 16 years of experience at H&R Block.

Bradley Abelow, the current global COO at MF Global Holdings Ltd., has assumed the additional role of president. Additionally, Henri Steenkamp was named CFO.

Bernard Dan, the ex-CBOT chief, joined the board of directors at NYSE Euronext’s co-owned clearinghouse, NYPC. Dan currently is president of Sun Holdings LLC.

Stuart Hendel was hired by Bank of America Corp. to head its prime brokerage unit. Hendel comes from UBS where he was in the same role.

Scott Harrison was appointed global head of product at Liquidnet. Prior to Liquidnet, Harrison was CEO of UNX.

Judd A. Gregg, a former U.S. senator, was named to the board of directors at Intercontinental Exchange.

David Hrencecin was hired by OptionsCity to be director of quantitative analysis. He previously was the Head of Research at DRW.

Michael Brennan was appointed global head of oil liquid groups at Morgan Stanley. Brennan has worked in the division since 2001.

Mark A. Solovy joined Sikich Investment Banking as a managing director. Prior to joining Sikich, Solovy was a managing director at Waveland Capital Partners.

Philip Hill joined First Republic Bank as portfolio manager and managing director. Prior to joining First Republic, Hill was senior vice president and portfolio manager for U.S. Trust.

Anne K. Small was named deputy general counsel in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of General Counsel. Small comes to the SEC from the New York office of WilmerHale LLP, where she was a partner in the firm’s litigation department.

Brett Paulson joined West Monroe Partners as a director and leader of its Capital Markets & Trading Industry practice. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer for The Clearing Corporation.

Charles Garcia was appointed head of global marketing for traditional asset managers at TradingScreen Inc. He was most recently head of North American sales at Sophis, Inc.
