President Obama confirms the death of Osama bin Laden as a result of a U.S. military operation in Pakistan.
Obama said that the mission that resulted in bin Laden's death began last August and came to a head in the past week. The culmination came yesterday when, Obama said, a small U.S. military force infiltrated bin Laden's compound and "after a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body."
"Justice has been done," Obama said.
