Regulatory heads testify on Dodd-Frank this week

On Thursday, Feb. 17, several regulatory heavyweights will testify before the Senate Banking Committee to give lawmakers an update on rule implementation related to the passage of the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill.

The financial regulators represent the agencies that were charged with seeing through the sweeping legislation that was passed in the wake of a financial market meltdown. This testimony falls roughly at the six-month mark since passage.

The testimony also comes amid an ongoing fight between Republicans and Democrats over the reach and intent of the reform. Despite Dodd-Frank having already been voted into law, that debate has gained steam following Republican gains in the House and Senate in last year's mid-term elections.
