Senate leaders had hoped to end debate on the massive financial reform legislation today and move to a vote, but some senators wouldn't have it.
While those same legislators favor reform, they have their own amendments on the table. Today's vote would have ended debate – and the prospect for those amendments to be considered – and moved forward to a vote on passage.
For now, that vote is not happening and the legislation remains in limbo.
