Volume in forex contracts at CME Group took a giant leap in the last year, with volume in March 2010 66% higher than March 2009. Average total daily volume in forex contracts at CME Group was 907,000 in March 2010 vs. 546,000 in March 2009. The New Zealand dollar had a nearly 200% increase year over year, and the Australian dollar jumped by more than 100%. Of the top 10 contracts by volume, the e-micro EUR/USD forex contract had the largest increase, jumping a whopping 324% year over year, and growth in euro e-mini contracts saw a more than 100% increase.
