Leaver appointed CEO at DME

Thomas Leaver was named CEO of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME). Previously he was the COO of DME. “I am confident that [Leaver] will build on the successes achieved to date and lead the exchange through its next phase of development and growth," said DME Chairman Ahmad Sharaf in a statement.

Helen Flanagan was named director of equity markets at CME Group. Previously she was a vice president at Goldman Sachs.

Phillip Hatzopoulos was named director of equity products - OTC at CME Group. Previously he was a vice president at Morgan Stanley.

Chris LaRosa was named director, association relations at CME Group. Previously, he was principal and practice leader with SRA International.

Michael Paese joined the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association as executive vice president, global advocacy. Previously he was deputy staff director of the House Financial Services Committee.

Lenel Hickson was named acting regional administrator in the New York eastern regional office of the CFTC.

Gerry Sherer was named chief financial officer of APX. Previously he was CFO of Refco. He held senior positions at Deutche Bank from 1997 to 2005.

Kevin Barnard, Alan Avery and Kathleen Scott joined the financial services group at Arnold & Porter LLP.

Eric Rylberg was named chief executive director and Karsten Poulsen was named deputy chief executive director at Saxo Bank.

Eric Meyer joined Downes-O'Neill/FC Stone as a risk management consultant.

Gil Gadot was named managing director of Fundtech Asia-Pacific. Most recently he was Fundtech’s chief technology officer.

Zhihui Tang joined Quantitative Services Group LLC as a senior quantitative analyst. Previously he was an analyst at Labranche Structured Products.

Eileen Timmins was promoted to senior vice president of human resources at R.J. O’Brien.
