U.S. Futures Exchange instituted a fee holiday on its USD SENSEX future through December 31, 2008.

International Securities Exchange (ISE) now offers flash functionality on its options exchange. ISE also has entered into an agreement with First Trust Advisors L.P. to create and list an ETF based on the ISE Global Wind Energy Index.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) launched options on streetTracks Gold Trust. PHLX also will offer cash-settled options on the Nasdaq 100 Index.

NYSE Euronext implemented a new fee package, Pack Epsilon, for all stocks listed on Euronext Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris. Also, NYSE Euronext and FTSE Group launched the FTSE 100 Volatility Index.

CME Group will offer options on the E-mini S&P SmallCap 600 equity index futures beginning July 27. CME Group also will offer U.S. Treasury and Interest Rate Swap predefined, implied intercommodity spreads beginning in the fourth quarter of 2008 and will introduce options on Eurodollar futures calendar spreads to begin trading on August 18.

The New York Mercantile Exchange will now distribute its products on Trayport’s Trading Gateway System.,


The Boston Options Exchange started a tiered structure for make or take pricing in the three most liquid penny names (QQQQ, SPY, IWM). The change lowers rates to 15¢/30¢ for market makers and 10¢/30¢ for non-market makers.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) began trading binary options contracts on the S&P 500 Index and on the CBOE Volatility Index. CBOE also will list options on the SPDR Gold Trust. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the trading and clearing of futures and option contracts based on shares of the SPDR Gold Trust ETF.


Nasdaq Stock Market now lists PowerShares Nasdaq-100 BuyWrite and Nasdaq Internet Portfolios.


Rydex Investments launched Rydexshares leveraged and inverse Select Sector ETFs.

Invesco PowerShares will list a global wind ETF and launch eight exchange traded notes with Deutche Bank linked to the performance of industrial metals and crude oil.


Portware added new features to its FX product, Portware FX.

SuperDerivatives launched the next generation of its trading platform for the foreign exchange market.


National Futures Association has developed an online learning program for its arbitrators.
