TT patent case may be at an end

A judge has denied Trading Technologies International Inc.’s (TT) request to push back the patent infringement trial scheduled for June 28. TT had argued that defendants eSpeed Inc. and eSpeed International Inc., EccoWare LLC and Ecco LLC, GL Consultants Inc. and GL Trade SA, have coordinated deliberate delays and refused to provide deposition witnesses and “sandbagged TT by producing a massive amount of discovery relating to alleged prior art called Tradepad.”

Lawyers for defendant eSpeed argue trading software GL Win with Trade Pad, a trading window within GL Win that dates back to 1998, included a static price ladder, displayed market depth, allowed traders to set quantities and included single-action order entry.

Lawyers for eSpeed have filed a motion of summary judgment to invalidate TT’s patents, arguing that Trade Pad anticipated TT in providing these features and functions.
